Abstract

Biological thinking had evolved since the very beginnings of the human civilization as an element of the man’s endeavour to understand the surrounding world and himself, as well. The phases of evolution of science, when a change of the determining paradigm occurred represent the breakpoints in the further development of the biological knowledge. What changes of current paradigms are awaited in the 21st century? Is the contemporary man prepared to manage the presumed rapid changes in the life of society? The answers to these questions will be given already in the next decades.
